  • It was closer than we thought to the theatre we were going to and so made it a very relaxing night away as we didn't have to drive. Convenient for the town too. Susan, Bromsgrove, Worcester
  • We enjoyed a lovely, faultless night at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was large and well equipped. The restaurant was well presented and the food amazing! I would most definately recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a special night away. Rebecca, Yarnton, Kidlington

  • The guy on reception did wear his coat which was a little odd however the single rooms were adequate in size and clean enough. The Bar tender was very friendly and extremely helpful and made us extremely welcome. The hotel is in a lovely spot and has the added benefits of a car park! Breakfast was filling and plentiful and for the price I would definately stay there again.L Burman, Telford

  • The setting is lovely, at the outskirts of town, with a beautiful water wheel Anonymous, United States of America
  • Good central location in the town with interesting surroundings. The hotel seemed to have had a successful makeover internally and had made good use of its former water mill status. Alan, York, United Kingdon

  • Location in the centre of Abingdon is so convenient making it easy and pleasant to have a wander along the banks of the river or into the town.Malcolm, Berwick upon Tweed
  • We did not arrive until 11.00 p.m. The Reception we received was warm welcoming and first class. I cannot speak too highly of the receptionists. There is nothing that we didn't like. There was a hiccup on the first night in that our room was cold and in consequence my wife did not sleep well. This was down to a faulty radiator in the bedroom where I suspect the valve was stuck closed. At 11.30 p.m. being tired we didn't think it appropriate to complain. The following morning reception sorted this out for us and upgraded us to a suite. Another example of the fantastic customer service from the reception department.Ralph, Uttoxeter
  • My son lives in Abingdon and the hotel was the perfect location to visit him and still be convenient for a trip into Oxford.Lorrie, Knaresborough
  • Staff very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed some excellent meals, especially Dinner on two evenings. Very comfortable beds! Wardrobe space in our room (14) very restricted. Breakfast on Sunday - bacon & kipper over cooked. Surcharge for newspapers. John, Kings Lynn
  • After reading some of the other reviews i was unsure what to expect from this hotel. i am pleased my doubts were mis placed and we had alovely relaxing 2 day easter break, the staff were extremely helpful and eager to please, the food lovely and overall value for money was excellent. I can understand some comments regarding foreign staff etc but would add that speaking a 2nd language is sometimes mistaken for rudeness and abrubptness if you take the time to talk to the staff u would find extremely helpful and attentive staff who were multi -tasking at busy periods. this hotel is a 3 star it would not take much to increase to a 4 star however the increase in staff etc would also i dare say, increase the cost of staying. Stay at this hotel with the right expectations , relax and remember there are reasons for its 3 star rating but they are definately not a lovely friendly hotel with great food and fantastic value for money, if it were the rating would be higher. Russel, Hornchurch
  • My sister and I had a twin contemporary room over looking the gardens and the river. The accommodation was clean and the decor pleasing. There is a large private car park at the hotel. You are in the centre of the city within minutes and the River Thames pathMs Curtis, Southampton

  • The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious.Breakfast was included in the room price, and was generously extensive and of good quality. The position of the hotel, and its outlook over the river are both attractive features. Car parking is easy, secure and free! Anon
