Terms of Use

ROOM RATES
Room rates listed are on a per room per night bases. On either a Room Only bases, Bed and Breakfast bases or a Dinner Bed and Breakfast bases as indicated. All rates are inclusive of V A T at the current rate.

CHILDRENS RATES
Childrens rates are charges at £20.00 per child for Bed and Breakfast when sharing with 1 or more adults. Special accommodation rates are not available for children staying in their own rooms, rates will apply as listed.

INTERNET
Internet is avilable in all guest rooms via a modem connection. Internet is charged at £8.00 per 24 hours, £5.00 for 3 hour or £2.00 for 1 hour.

DEPOSITS
A deposit equal to 1 night's accommodation per room is payable at time of booking.  For 5 or more rooms booked the Group terms and conditions will apply.  A copy of which can be obtained be contacting the reservations department.

CONFIRMATION AND PAYMENTS
To confirm your reservation a credit card number will be required at the time of booking. A deposit will be charged to the credit card supplied, per room. Full payment for your accommdation is payable on arrival at the hotel, with additional charges being payable on departure. Please note that payment via American Express will incur a 2% fee.

Corporate rate clients that book via a website booking engine will be charged the online rate that they have agreed to at time of booking. Corporate rates can only be redeemed when booked direct with the Hotel and in line with their corporate contract.

COMMISSIONABLE RATES
All prices quoted are non commissionable. Commision will only be accepted with prior approval from Management. Bookings made via our on-line reservations system are non commissionable.

CANCELLATIONS - Room Reservations
Should you wish to cancel your reservation you must contact the reservations department by 14.00 48 hours prior to arrival. Cancellation after this time will incure a minimum charge of 1 nights accommodation.  Accommodation includes the room rate and Dinner if selected at time of booking. Please note that force majeure does not void our cancellation policy. When traveling at any time we reccommend you take out travel insurance to cover your travel. No show guests will not be refunded the deposit and the remaining nights will be cancelled.

CANCELLATION 6 OR MORE ROOMS
For group bookings of 6 or more rooms, cancellation will be calculated as below.

57 days or more - Free Cancellation
43-56 Days - 10% of rates or rates quoted
29-42 Days - 30% of rates or rates quoted
15-28 Days - 45% or rates or rates quoted
8-14 Days - 60% of rates or rates quoted
7 days or less - 100% of rates or rates quoted

The hotel reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith and without liability on its part in the event of any damage or destruction of the hotel caused by fire or any other cause, any shortage of labour or food supplies, strikes, lock-outs or industrial action, or any other cause beyond the control of the company which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with any booking.

CHECK IN
Check in time is 14.00 on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 11.00 on the day of departure. Late check out and early arrivals will only be accommdated if rooms are available. If an early arrival is required you will be charged for accommodation for the night prior.

PACKAGES
Prices for packages are based on 2 adults sharing a twin/double room for the stated number of nights

SUPPLEMENT
To upgrade your room type a supplement may apply and will be based on per room per night increase.

Please note that payment via American Express Credit Card will incur a 2% fee.

FUNCTION BOOKINGS
The Party you are contracting with is Contemporary Hotels (“the Company”) which operates the hotel referred to. When used below the term “smaller event” involves up to and including 25 elegates/guests and the term “larger event” involves more than 25 delegates/guests. The Hotel Manager has the authority to amend these terms and conditions in writing at his discretion.

NUMBERS BOOKED
Provisional numbers will be asked for at the time of booking and the hotel reserves the right to stipulate a minimum number to be charged for the event. Final numbers must be confirmed 14 working days prior to the event (not including the day of the event) and, subject to any minimum number, this will be the number you will be charged for. The hotel reserved the right to change a designated room after appropriate consultation if the agreed minimum numbers are not to attend the event. This does not affect any minimum charge.

PAYMENT
A non-refundable deposit of £500 must be paid upon confirmation. For larger events a 50% deposit must be paid upon confirmation. If payment is to be made by either a credit or charge card this must be made known to the hotel at the time of booking. Only recognised cards will be accepted. The card must be produced by the signatory prior to the event. Credit facilities will not be offered. Weddings and private functions must be fully prepaid at least 14 days prior to the event.

CANCELLATION - Functions & Events
Cancellation by the Customer. Should you cancel your booking a charge must be made equivalent to any loss suffered by the hotel. Costs incurred for any equipment hired by the hotel on your behalf will be added to any cancellation fee.
If cancellation occurs 31 days before any event 100% will be charged
If you cancel an event and, in the opinion of the hotel manager, book a similar event within a period of 14 days, 25% of the cancellation charge will be credited to the re-booked event.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellation by the Hotel. The hotel may cancel the booking at any time and without any obligation to you in any of the following circumstances:
If the hotel or any part of it is closed due to fire, alteration or re-decoration, by order of any public authority, or through any reason beyond the hotel’s control.
If you become bankrupt or insolvent or enter into liquidation or have an administrator, administrative receiver or receiver appointed over all or a substantial part of your assets.
If you are more than 7 days in arrears with payment to the hotel or the Company.
If the event may, in the hotel Manager’s reasonable opinion, prejudice the reputation of the hotel.
If you have failed to meet any of the Hotels Terms and Conditions including any verbal requests from the Hotel.
Please note that force majeure does not void our cancellation policy. We reccommend you take out travel/event insurance to cover your travel or events.

LIABILITIES
Please safeguard your property. The hotel will not accept any liability for loss of or damage to property or death or illness of or injury to persons unless caused by the Company’s negligence. Unless the Company is liable as referred to you will indemnify the Company from and against any and all liability for loss of or damage to property or death or illness of or injury to persons and against any and all claims, costs, demands, proceedings and damages arising there from as a result of the event. You are advised to consider your insurance cover in respect of above.

GENERAL
Goods and services may not be bought or sold on the premises without the hotel Manager’s prior written consent in which case additional terms and conditions will apply which you must sign.
No tickets whatsoever may be sold at the event.
The hotel name, logo and telephone number may not be used in any advertising or other publicity without prior written consent of the hotel Manager.
No signs, display posters or other materiel may be fixed to the walls of any part of the Hotel, without the prior authorisation of the hotel Manager.
If the contract includes you’re employing the services of an outside contractor then you will indemnify the hotel against any loss of or damage to property or death or illness of or injury to persons caused by such contractor and against all claims, costs, demands, proceedings and damages arising there from. Any outside contractor employed by you must report to the duty Manager at the hotel.
The hotel reserves the right to refuse access to any contractor in appropriate circumstances.
All events are advised to take insurance cover.
Photography; the Hotel reserves the right to Photograph any part of your event for the purpose of advertising the Hotel or Hotel Facilities.
The Hotel also reserves the right to Limit areas of the Hotel which may be used for Photography.
Alcohol, no alcohol of any kind is permitted to be bought onto the Hotels property for consumption within any of the public areas of the Hotel without the prior consent of the General Manager. Any alcohol that is consumed without authorisation will be confiscated and a fine of £100 will be levied for bottles of spirits and a corkage charge of £12.95 for any bottles of wine. This charge will be added to the group account for payment on departure from the hotel.

BEHAVIOUR
Any behavior which is deem to be threatening, violent, aggressive or abusive towards Staff, Guests or Visitors is not acceptable. All staff are entitled to work in a safe environment.

LAUNDRY
Laundry service is available Monday to Friday through Westinghouse Laundry. The Hotel will not accept any responsibility for any items of Laundry sent to an outside supplier. Any issue you encounter must be directly referred to the Laundry Company.

PET POLICY
With the exceptions of working dogs for disabled people, our Hotel does not accept pets.
